I AM Worthy

Life is unpredictable enough. Why do we allow ourselves to complain relentlessly about the things we can’t have and the obstacles in our lives. Whining too much and planting seeds of self-pity wherever we go undermines our ability to succeed and is unhealthy (which does quite the opposite of what we want to achieve). In the long run, it blinds us from seeing all the beauty in the World, which is Life itself.

Sometimes, one just has to sit back and enjoy the simple things in life (like the Roses in our backyards). Why not start by recognizing that we are stronger than we believe ourselves to be? That a rumor doesn’t mean anything until we make it true? That as long as we are alive and willing, we are able to accomplish whatever we put our hearts and minds into?

I love everything educational, inspirational and motivational. I have displayed a few scriptures and quotes around my house to remind and guide me on my life choices.

We are worthy of our Creator’s love. We do not need someone to make us feel special – we are special (with or without someone whispering sweet nothings in our ear). We have value. We are good enough. We have worth and we must believe it. We should recognize our mistakes and be accountable for our choices. We must learn to let go when holding on is no longer an option. We must turn our self-pity, self-judgmental and self-doubt into self-love. We are stronger than what we know. We are much more than our words.

“Pomona Antique Mart” Shop

I truly appreciate lovelies and my husband is really thoughtful of me when it comes to my heart desires. I get happy over little things which spark a desire in me to create, decorate and donate.

Another favorite of mine is this gorgeous Cherub Wall Shelf Sconce my husband purchased for me, while visiting the Antique Rows in Downtown Pomona, CA.

Another steal from the Antique Row was this Set of 3 Clear Crystal Pillar Candlestick Holder which I love to pieces.

For great and unique Vintage finds, I highly recommend you visit Pomona’s Antiques Row shops and allow yourself at least a good half a day to do so. The atmosphere is peaceful, friendly and the shop owners are always happy to tell the story behind each piece of furniture.

Matryoshka Dolls

– Don’t we all love them? With a variety of shapes and themes from fairy tales, religious, athletic icons and from wildlife to World leaders; the choices and possibilities are endless.
Kids love them and mine are not immune to their awesomeness. They are useful in educating young children about colors, sizes, shapes, stacking and unstacking into larger dolls.

Beside the vibrant colors and themes; I am fond of them mainly for what they represent: motherhood and fertility.

Matryoshka-Dolls — *Russian Nesting Dolls.*

The gorgeous Matryoshka Nesting Doll in the middle was purchased at one of the Antique Stores in Downtown Pomona. Standing at 8″ tall and consisting of 9 pieces, it is one of my favorite acquisitions.

Being a Vintage lover and having spent at least six years in Pomona, CA; I can assure you that the Antique Row is the place to shop for everything Antique (paintings, furniture, books, toys, clothing, Silverware, tools and much more). I own a few sets, some of which I will be giving away to my readers.

Stray Cats: Repelling Remedies

How would you feel waking up every morning to find mounds of disturbed dirt in your yard/garden? It’s not a pretty sight nor enjoyable. This is exactly what I endured for at least 2 years. Most of them were vicious stray and feral cats, malnourished and I am sure carried diseases (such as toxoplasmosis as well as other health risks associated with cat feces).

The morning my son, who was learning to walk then, tripped and fell next to a pile of covered cat feces changed everything. It was obvious that I had to handle the situation on my own.
After contacting the Animal Control Department, I picked up a Humane trap and for the next two weeks, we caught at least six cats. Prior to getting the traps I tried a few remedies as well as cat repellents:

» Chicken wire
» Rocks & stones
» Mr. McGregor’s Fence
» Motion sensor sprinkler
» CatStop Ultrasonic (doesn’t always work)
» Mulching (didn’t work for me)
» Damped Soil (doesn’t always work)
» Coffee Grounds<
» Rosemary (worked for a while …)
» Coleus Canina or ‘Scaredy Cat Plant’
» Find the pet owner if you can and if there’s one.

We all know that cats have sensitive noses and dislike scented plants. We also know that cats don’t know boundaries and are unpredictable, which means that if they can, they will turn any unfortunate situation in their favor. The most effective remedies are costly. This is a never-ending problem which some of us will endure as long as irresponsible pet owners allow their cats to roam.

In summary, if cats love your yard they will find a way to get in as it is difficult to confine an outdoor animal. Pet owners who truly care about their pets keep them indoor. I do not hate animals but I get very upset when they use my yard/garden as a litter box and I don’t have to put up with that.

Be Inspired – Don’t Envy

Far back as I can remember, Mankind used to see the World through clear lenses; Nowadays, not so much. While some people have found a way to maintain composure and grace; others have evolved into self-centered/self-absorbed beings, freeing their ego to cause chaos on its path, pressuring their brains to think the unthinkable and allowing their mouths to speak the unforgettable.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)

Jealousy made a comeback and seems to be one of the most cherishable words on the street. I am talking about the Jealousy that can’t stop comparing and think it’s on top of the World. While people are dying of famine and gunshots; others give praises to jealousy! Seriously?

Jealousy is all about the self-esteem of the thinker. If you believe to be a good person, to look good and have a good life, why should you care about what others think of you? If you don’t know for sure that someone envies you; why even say it? Unless it’s the other way around.

REASONS NOT TO ENVY:

» We are all Unique and no one compares to us. No one.
» We cannot envy someone we do not know unless we’ve walked in their shoes and enjoyed it.

The mind is a strange tool. Unless we ask from the source, we most definitely will never know the truth; only ‘the truth’ we create in our own mind based on some assumptions. When people talk about us, it’s not always in a negative way. They may be complimenting us to someone else. Have we ever thought about that? Or are we so bitter that we ceased to see beauty in the World?

Be inspired by people to be more productive and become a part of a solution rather than a problem.
